Itinerary

Day 1: Bagdogra/ NJP – Gangtok (120 Kms)

Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway station, after greetings proceed to Gangtok, at an altitude of 5500ft Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim is a beautiful and clean town promising of the best monasteries and landscapes. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel & later you could explore famous MG Marg (on your own). Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 2: Gangtok - Tsomgo Lake - Baba Mandir – Nathu La ( Optional ) Excursion

Gangtok | Tsomgo Lake | Baba Mandir | Nathu-La Pass (Optional) After a wholesome breakfast in the morning, you will leave for a visit to the famous Tsomgo Lake. Shaped like an oval, the lake is located 40 km away from the city of Gangtok and has an elevation of about 3,780 m above sea level. Apart from its breathtaking scenic beauty, the lake is also famous for housing the Brahminy Ducks and many other migratory birds. Following this will be a visit to the shrine of the famous Baba Harbhajan Singh, a war hero. The shrine is popularly called the Baba Mandir. Nathu-la Pass to the Republic of China is nearly 20 Kms and is an optional tour (Strictly subject to availability). (Remains closed on Monday).

Day 3: Gangtok Half-Day Sightseeing | Transfer to Darjeeling (4 Hrs. Journey)

Have breakfast in your hotel & then get ready for Gangtok Half-Day Sightseeing which includes Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology, Enchey Monastery, Flower Show & Ganesh Tok. After completing your sightseeing, we will proceed to Darjeeling. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 4: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (at around 4 am) to view sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (subject to clear weather). On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Afternoon, go for a half-day sightseeing tour of Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tenzing and Gumbo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) and Tea Estate. In the evening, you may roam around the famous Mall Road (on your own). Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Had a wonderful time and experience in Gangtok all thanks to the driver Mr. Ashok, who was very friendly, helpful and he also happily helped us to click our pictures on almost every spot along with providing information about the places that were being visited. He is a great driver and knew the routes very well and also gave us a discount on the Nathula Pass permit fees. On the way to Darjeeling from Gangtok, Mr. Ashok also offered to take us on a tour to South Sikkim (places like Buddha Park, Char Dham, Tea Garden and others) on a discounted price. After visiting Gangtok, Darjeeling was a let down as there is nothing much to see in comparison.

The Sikkim tour was well organised by the company, everything was arranged as asked, the hotels were also good, cleanliness and food was amazing in the hotels which the company booked. The sightseeing was also well organised, especially the driver Mr Tek Nath, who came to receive us earlier in the morning at NJP railway station at around 05:00 AM, his awareness about the areas was very commendable and his driving skills also, he made us very comfortable and familiar with the environment and people around. I would recommend the company and everyone to have a driver like him(Mr Tek Nath). Overall a good tour.
