Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati - Kaziranga

Welcome on arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway station. From there we will be driven to Kaziranga, the Rhinos Country. It's forests, wetlands and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants and the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel. After freshening up, enjoy the rest of the day relaxing, in preparation for the fun and adventurous journey that lies ahead.

Day 2: Sightseeing | Kaziranga National Park - Shillong

Early morning, head out to explore one zone of the national park riding on an elephant (on your own). Later explore the other zone of the Park on Jeep Safari (at an additional cost). After an amazing experience at Kaziranga National Park, return to the hotel for a lip-smacking breakfast. Check-out from the hotel & proceed to Shillong. You will come across the Umiam Lake (Barapani) while traveling from Guwahati to Shillong, capturing its mesmerizing beauty it has to offer. You may take a ride on a speed boat (at additional cost). Later, we shall move forward. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel & stay overnight.

Day 3: Shillong - Cherrapunjee

Today after breakfast, travel to Cherrapunjee. En-route visit Shillong peak to have a picturesque view of the entire city. Then visit Elephant Falls, named after an Elephant like stone at its foot, the Elephant Falls are amongst the most popular falls in the North-East. Upon arrival at Cherrapunjee, visit Mawkdok Dympep Valley View Point, Dainthlen Falls, Wei Sawdong & Mawsmai Cave. Enjoy the beautiful evening. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

Day 4: Cherrapunjee - Nongriat Trek (Double Decker Root Bridge) - Cherrapunjee

Early morning (6 AM) your journey to Double Decker Root Bridge, deep in the dense tropical forest Meghalaya is a must visit destination known for its numerous waterfalls. It's a 3000 step journey (Trek) down the hill and the trek starts from Tyrna Village (10 Kms from Sohra, Cherrapunjee). Start the trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat) with the local guide (guide cost excluded). The aprox. Time to complete the journey (both ways) is 5-6 Hrs. Later on, you can also extend your hike to Rainbow Falls (60 minutes hike from Nongriat). Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

Day 5: Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Dawki (Shnongpdeng) – Shillong

Today, after breakfast, start your journey to Mawlynnong (it was awarded the prestigious tag of 'Cleanest Village in Asia' in 2003. Upon arrival do a short trek in the village & witness the local beauty. You can also visit Balancing Rock, Sky Viewpoint (Nohwet Viewpoint) & the longest living root bridge. Eat local lunch in the village. Then, we will proceed to the border town of Dawki, a hidden paradise. Upon arrival, visit Umngot River in Dawki is crystal clear & is considered one the cleanest rivers in. You can do boating (at an additional cost). In the evening, get transferred to Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 6: Shillong - Laitlum Canyon - Mawphlang - Shillong

After breakfast, proceed to Laitlum Canyon. You can trek to the amazing Laitlum Canyon.Spend hours looking at the breathtaking gorges and steep winding stairways that snake their way down to the lush valley. Later, we will proceed further to Mawphlang. Upon arrival, explore the most famous sacred forests i.e. Mawphlang Sacred Forest. The sacred grove has an amazing life in the form of plants, flowering trees, orchids, and butterflies. Then travel back to Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 7: Shillong - Guwahati

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed to Guwahati. En-route visit Beadon Bishop View Point. Upon arrival at Guwahati, complimentary visit to Kamakhya Temple (if time permits). Then we will take you to Guwahati Airport / Railway station for your onward journey. Tour concludes with everlasting memories of Meghalaya.
