Elphinstone Point

Elphinstone Point is one of the most picturesque viewpoints in the popular hill station of Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra. This remarkable site, which is named after Mountstuart Elphinstone, the former Bombay Governor in the 19th century, provides stunning views of the valleys and greenery surrounding it, making it a central location for all nature fanatics.

Situated at a height of 1,340 meters above sea level, it is at the same level as the Elphinstone Point that one can get the best view of where the confluence of Savitri River takes place and the green Koyna Valley. The view of the deep gorges and towering cliffs with hills is breathtakingly beautiful, especially in the wet months when the scenery is fully green. In fact, on a clear sunny day, this place could also provide some view of Pratapgarh Fort.

The process of travelling to Elphinstone Point Mahabaleshwar is as beautiful as loading towards the endpoint. The journey to the point is more fun for the travellers as it is well depicted with huge trees, curvy roads, fresh air and so many other exciting factors. Moreover, the place is quite appealing as it is less than most of the tourist destinations in Mahabaleshwar, thus it serves as an ideal spot to relax and appreciate nature.

Nevertheless, since Elphinstone Point Mahabaleshwar is located far away from the town centre, it is advisable to take a taxi or join a tour along with the other places of interest in this area and then visit this location.
