The great Gyuto Tantric Monastery, located near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, which is also known as Gyuto Tantric Monastery Temple, is a tantric institute dedicated to preserving and advancing the tradition of tantric teachings of the great Teacher Tsongkhapa, the foremost authority among the learned and accomplished masters of Tibet.
Through Nagarjuna and other learned Indian Buddhist scholars of Nalanda University, as well as great Tibetan translators and accomplished masters, the entire teachings of the Buddha are transmitted. This monastery, which was established in 1959, is a prominent hub for the study and execution of Tibetan Buddhist tantric rites.
It is well-known for the magnificent vistas of the Dhauladhar mountain range, the serene ambience, and the dazzling golden Buddha statue. A manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, the Tibetan Dharma King SongtsenGampo established the two most ancient and well-known temples in Tibet, Rasa Tunang and Ramoche, in 655 (AD), to house the two statues of the Buddha, Jowo Shakyamuni and Jowo Mikyo Dorje.
Later, the two monuments' sites were switched around due to the political unrest in Tibet. Jowo Shakyamuni is at the Rasa Trulnang Temple, while Jowo Mikyo Dorje is in the Ramoche Temple. As a result, the sculptures are currently not where they were originally located.
A Dharamshala tour package would be further enhanced by the Gyuto Monastery, which combines spirituality, culture, and spectacular natural beauty. If you're looking for a quiet getaway or have an interest in Buddhism, the Gyuto Monastery is
