Nashik, Maharashtra has an old hill fort called Harihara Fort, commonly known as Harshagad. The height of this fort is 3,676-foot which is known for its nearly vertical, steeply cut steps, which make for a thrilling hike for extreme sports enthusiasts.
It takes about 2-3 Hours to reach the Harihar fort from the lower village of Nirgudpad which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape where visitors can capture photos. The castle has distinctive stone steps, which are difficult but fun to climb as they are almost vertical in places.
Pedestrians love the castle for its historical significance and sweeping views from above, despite the difficulty of the journey. Winter or rainy season when the weather is pleasant is the best time to visit Harihar Fort. The trek is a little risky and is the result of so many deaths also if you don't trek safely.
On top of the fort is a low temple honoring Hanuman and a few water tanks. Trek enthusiasts and history buffs can enjoy this much-loved place along with the Nashik holiday packages. But because it’s a steep climb, you have to be careful—especially in the rainy season when the steps can be slippery. Whether you are looking for an adrenaline rush or a peaceful nature resort, Harihara Fort Nashik offers a memorable travel experience.
