Overview

Step into the pages of royal history by discovering an enchanting Makarpura Palace: this gem keeps telling tales from the glorious past of Baroda. Call it Vadodara's Makarpura Palace or the Makarpura Palace Baroda; this masterpiece in architecture boasts like a fine testimony to the rich cultural legacy of Gujarat. This majesty should form part of your Vadodara Tour Packages to enjoy a rich travelling experience in a land dotted with royal beauty.

Makarpura Palace was once built in the year 1870 as the summer palace of the Gaekwad ruling family of Baroda, being an architectural marvel of its own time with Italian Renaissance as well as authentic Indian architectural tastes, intricately sculpted sprawling courtyards with fine fountains. If there is even one who might not have received a feeler for the divine grandeur forever they may have seen some pictures of the Makarpura Palace Vadodara.

Once the abode of the summer kings and queens, corridors that now hold nostalgic memories of long-lost eras echo there. Some stories speak of parties that the Gaekwads organized here along with royal functions and thus palace life is charged with zestful zest.

Currently, it is being used as the training centre for the Indian Air Force which is also closed to visitors. Its breathtaking exteriors and well-maintained gardens make for a perfect photography scene or strolling area for history enthusiasts while you may not. The Makarpura Palace Timings are 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and the Entry Fee is INR 125 per person.
