Have you ever imagined walking through the ornate corridors of a magical, mysterious royal mansion? Well, welcome to the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, a historical treasure trove located right in the heart of Kathmandu, once a royal house. This famous site is a must-see for anyone planning their perfect vacation with Kathmandu Tour Packages because of its interesting history, ornate architecture, and fascinating stories of Nepal's royalty.

The history of Narayanhiti Palace is over a hundred years, the royal family of Nepal has stayed in the Narayanhiti Palace, located in the heart of Kathmandu's bustle. The palace was built by King Mahendra in 1969 and showcases both traditional and modern Nepalese design elements. "Narayanhiti" refers to the adjacent Narayan Temple and the "Hiti," a natural spring that flows nearby. The palace is a very unique attraction since it brings spirituality and regal grandeur together.

Today, the palace operates as a museum and a sobering testament to Nepal's royal legacy, including the brutal and contested royal massacre of 2001. The 52 rooms displaying the riches, antiques, and glory of the monarchy are named after various districts in Nepal. Beautiful chandeliers, the regal throne chamber, and painstakingly maintained halls carry you back into history and provide a rare insight into the lives of Nepal's monarchs.

Due to its fascinating and sobering past, Narayanhiti Palace offers an excellent location for introspection and exploration. After visiting all its opulent interiors with the palace at the centre, it is impossible not to think about all the changes that led Nepal from monarchy to democracy.

The Narayanhiti Palace Museum opening days are Thursday to Monday from 10:30 Am to 2:30 Pm and Tuesday from 10:30 Am to 1:30 Pm and closed on Wednesday, night to make it even more convenient for your travelling. Its schedule is the opposite of being on Saturdays when closed and the days of national and public holidays.
