Places To Visit

Janaki mandir

It is the biggest temple in Nepal that is stationed at Janakpur, dedicated to Goddess Sita. It is built at the birthplace of the goddess Sita. Now the site is classified as a religious shrine and archaeological landmark but the locals use it as a working place of worship. Janaki mandir is one of the top places to visit in Jankpur as you can get a feel of Ramayana. While Janaki Mandir stands for Hindu–Koiri Nepali architecture, it has a beautiful white exterior. All buildings of the 3 storied temple are constructed with stones and marble; whereas 60 rooms including the temple are decorated with the Nepali flag, engravings, paintings, graceful Baroque windows, and towers. The Janaki temple is mainly crowded during the frequent feasts, pujas, and celebrations like Ram Navami, Vivah Panchami, Dashain, Deepavali, and Holi.

Ram Mandir

Ram Mandir is the best place in Janakpur tourism and is situated in the central part of Janakpur. Dating back to the end of the 1700s this Shiv temple is the prized possession of Amar Singh Thapa, the Gorkhali General who built the temple. The temple has a Hindu architecture style of pagoda style structure which is eminent in many temples across this area exhibiting wonderful arts and designs. This holy temple attracts a huge population of pilgrims during Ram Navami and Dashain- both festivals in honor of Lord Rama. A trip to Ram Mandir is ideal for those people who want to be involved in culture as it is counted among the amazing places to visit in Janakpur Nepal.
