Majuli island is a place of spirituality and history with 22 Satras (Vaishnavite monasteries) and the famous Raas Leela. In case you are planning to go on a trip, here is an Assam Arunachal Pradesh Tour Packages on How to Reach Majuli Island.
By Air
The best way to start your journey to Majuli Island is by taking a flight as it is the most convenient means of transport. The closest airport is Jorhat Airport which is approximately 8 km from Jorhat town. Once you arrive at the airport, you could hire either taxi or use bus services to get into Jorhat town. This makes it easily accessible for travellers since there are regular flights from cities such as Guwahati, Kolkata and Delhi. Alternatively, Lilabari Airport in North Lakhimpur, which is about 65km away, can be used as another entry point into the island for those who wish to travel longer distances. From there, you can take a taxi or bus up to North Lakhimpur bus station and move forward towards Majuli.
By Train
There are no railway stations around the Majuli. Therefore, passengers wishing to travel by train have to board trains from Guwahati and alight at Jorhat which is nearer than anywhere else towards Majuli. On reaching Jorhat people can catch buses or taxis that will take them straightway towards Neemati Ghat where ferries ply back and forth to the island
By Road
Being an island on river Majuli does not have any direct road connection with major cities or towns nearby it. The beautiful island cannot be reached via buses or taxis. One needs to reach Jorhat from Guwahat
