The nearest major airport is Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) in Bangalore which serves international travellers and visitors from other parts of India. It is situated around 170 kilometres away. You can take a taxi or a bus from Bangalore, which usually takes about three hours to reach Mysore.
By Rail
Mysore Junction (MYS), also known as Mysuru Junction, is the most important railway station in the city. It has access to major cities in south India along with some northern stations like Delhi. Shatabdi Express is one of the fastest trains that connect Mysore with Bangalore and Chennai, taking 2 hours and 7 hours, respectively. Other than this route, rail travel can also be very convenient since local and long-distance trains also serve between them.
By Road
Mysore has an excellent road network composed of national and state highways, which makes it conveniently accessible by road. The distance between this city and Bangalore is approximately 143 kilometres by NH275, and it takes around three hours to reach the city. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates daily bus services, including luxury Volvo buses between Bangalore and Mysore.
