Known as the Naharlagun Zoo, the Itnagar Zoo is located in Itnagar, Arunachal Pradesh, India. This small, properly-maintained zoo is placed within the stunning foothills of the Himalayas. Founded in 1980, its purpose is to promote the conservation of the herbal world and environmental schooling.


The zoo has a large collection of animals in the area, together with the one-horned rhinoceros, Himalayan persistence, rhinos and numerous reptiles It also has several covered areas to hunt animals that they endangered species and defend their habitat.

To reach Itanagar Zoo from Itanagar, head northeast on NH13. Follow signs to the zoo, passing through the Ganga Lake area. The zoo is located in the vicinity of the Papum Pare district. It’s a short drive from the city centre, taking approximately 15-20 minutes.
