Overview

Lachung Monastery is a historical Buddhist monastery nestled amongst lush apple orchards inside the Lachen Valley. This monastery with an excellent shape is placed at an altitude of two,750 meters, close to the confluence of several rivers of Teesta, Lachen and Lachung. Gompa is the place to begin the Green Lake trek. Established in 1806 by way of the Nyingmapa sect of Buddhism, the construction carries an outstanding statue of Guru Padma Sambhavam. A prayer wheel close to the monastery’s front courses visitors to the handicrafts and crafts place. This is one of the most peaceful locations to visit in Lachung. The monastery has a notable air of thriller that fascinates every traveller. It is decorated with colourful artwork and mind-blowing Tibetan architecture. Surrounded by way of verdant mountains and embellished with a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, it is an outstanding region wherein spirituality meets natural splendour. Required permits: Permits are required for the Monastery as the place is in restricted area regulations and permits can be obtained from the Sikkim Tourism Office in Gangtok.
