The sacred place is known as the Tripura Sundari Temple or Maa Tripura Sundari Temple. This 3000-year-old temple is situated at a distance of a few miles from the Udaipur town in the north-eastern Indian state of Tripura. This historic shrine is devoted to mother goddesses, especially an incarnation of Tripura Sundari. Most popularly known as Tripura Sundari Mandir, this temple is said to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas where Sati's heart fell. As such, most of this place is a treasured site of considerable spiritual force.
