Religion: The official religion of the country is Vajrayana Buddhism. Buddhism is the religion of the majority of the population which is 770,000. Hinduism comes a close second.
Traditions: Traditionally, the Bhutanese are family-oriented people following a matriarchal lineage. The inheritance and parent’s property are passed through the female line. The traditional sport is archery and Digor. The cuisine that is traditionally used is rice, buckwheat, and maize. There is a lot of pork, yak meat, beef, lamb, and chicken used in the cuisines.
Occupations: The major occupation in the country is farming as the economy is basically an agrarian one. Eco-friendly tourism is also being developed to generate greater revenue. There is no dearth of hotels in Bhutan that suits your budget.
