Vietnamese culture is recognized as one of the oldest cultures in the world. Through and through its culture has been influenced by China. After French colonialism Catholicism also became part of the country’s religious space though several restrictions were made in the past to maintain the superiority of Vietnamese over Catholicism.
In Vietnamese traditions, the clans are most valued in the country. The cultural space of the country is marked by high family values which are showcase when four or five generations sit down to chat with each other under the same roof. Clans are related to the bloodline and elders have the right to make decisions for their young ones. Nowadays things have changed drastically through with the youth taking decisions on their own.
