Best time to visit Nepal
Nepal's diverse climate means the best time to visit depends on the season and the activities you want to enjoy.
Summer (June to September)
Though the summer in Nepal is very hot, especially in the Terai region, the mountains will still be fine. Kathmandu Valley has a moderate climate with temperatures varying from 20 to 30°C. This is a very good season for trekking in mid-hills, like the Annapurna region where the temperature is fair and the vegetation is full of flowers. Despite high temperatures, April-March is a perfect time to go out on tours as well as for cultural visits. Summer is also not as busy as autumn, so it is ideal for travelers who want to tour in Nepal with fewer crowds.
Winter (December to February)
Winter in the country is relatively cold and in the mountains, temperatures may go as low as below freezing point, 0°C. In cities such as Kathmandu, the climate is 5°C to 15°C making it ideal for sightseeing. Trekking on higher elevations during the winter may be a little tough due to snow. But the lowland trekking and historical site tours like Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Lumbini are best during this period. Also, crowds are less and so are accommodation and tour costs, making it a perfect time for budget-conscious tourists. You can enhance the Nepal tour by choosing Kiomoi’s diverse tour packages.
Monsoon (June to August)
Monsoon season in Nepal results in heavy rainfall with the best rainfalls experienced in places such as the southern plains and the lower slopes of the hills. Trekking in the higher region can equally be complex since the trails are icy and there is poor visibility. But this season brings good weather, beautiful green scenery, and fewer people. So, the prices for the hotels and tours are cheaper. Monsoon is ideal for exploring cultures in Kathmandu, Pokhara, wildlife sanctuaries, and safari parks, because these places are relatively less affected by rains. You have a hassle-free journey with Koimoi’sNepal trip package.
