Weather: The weather of Matheran is pleasant throughout the year. But it’s magical during the monsoons. During the summer season that is in the March to May, the temperature remains hot and humid. The entire region gets blanketed into the deserted look.

Route: Mumbai-Pune Highway(NH-4) till Chauk via Panvel; state highway to Neral via Karjat junction and Chinchavali,hill road to Dasturi Naka in Matheran.

Best time to visit: Pleasent throughout the year. But magical during the monsoons.

Nearest Rail Head: Neral is the nearest railhead (8km by road)

Tip: No mini trains in the monsoons

Car: Take NH4 till Chauk. Turn left onto the state highway to Neral, past Chinchavali. Climb up to Dastiru Naka, 2 Km short of Matheran. Park here(Rs 25 per day). There is a Rs 20 per head tourist tax on entry.

Bus: ST buses ply regularly between to Neral

Attractions: Hart Point, Monkey Point, Porcupine Point for the sunset, Louisa Point, One Tree Hill Point, Prabal Fort, ShivajiÂ?s Ladder, Rambagh Point, Khandala, Karjat and Alexander point.
