Rajkot city is located in west-central Gujrat State, constituted from the central reign of Saurashtra, due to which it is a part of 11 districts established in Gujarat. It is situated near the Kathiawar Peninsula center that is 72 km of Southeast Jamnagar. The city was a former princely state, but now, it is a decisive commercial and industrial center.
Geographically, Rajkot city is located between 23 degrees 08' North latitude and 20-degree 58 North latitude and 71 degrees 40' to 70 degrees 20' East Longitude. On the banks of two Rivers Aji and Nyari, at an elevation of about 420 ft, lies the city of Rajkot. The area covered by the city is about 170 sq km.
Rajkot city has a pleasant and dry climate throughout the year. The temperature during summer falls between 24 degrees C and 42 degrees C, while the rainy season continues between July and September, in which the city receives approximately 276 mm rainfall.
