Dholavira is an archaeological site in the state of Gujarat in India. The place is named after a village one kilometer south of it, located at a distance of 165 kilometers from Radhanpur. Dholavira is also known as the Kotada Timba and contains remnants of the ancient Indus valley or Harappan civilization. It has been well known as an eminent archaeological site and the fifth largest one after being discovered by J.P Joshi, a representative of the Archaeological Survey of India or the ASI, in 1968.
