Amer Fort, literally referred to as Ambar Fort, is one of the marvels of Rajasthan. It is located just 11 kilometres away from Jaipur. This is very much an exciting and attractive feature for most of the Jaipur tour packages because Amer Fort Jaipur is famous for its incredible design and historical importance. The fort has a combination of Hindu and Mughal styles of architecture along with excellent red sandstone and marble structures.

Amer Fort is rich in elements of art style. Overshadowing Maota Lake as the main source of water for the Amer Palace, its large ramparts series of gates and cobbled paths overshadow the main source of water- Maota Lake. Reference no. Amer Palace is a great example of Rajput architecture.

There is another secret of the fort: a secret two-kilometre-long tunnel was constructed in the Amer Fort straight to the Jaigarh Fort, and it lay behind the Zanana Palace. They say that the walls of the Jaigarh Fort were built far stronger and more fortified than the walls of the Amer Fort.

The fort is famous for its glitzy palaces, courtyards, and intricate artworks. Amongst them lies the Sheesh Mahal Amer Fort, or Mirror Palace, said to represent beautiful sculptures that reflect light and cast an otherworldly, magical spell over the viewer. The walls of this fantastic palace are studded with tiny mirrors sparkling like stars when candlelight ignites them.
From the fort, tourists can see the magnificent Ganeshpol, which is quite ornately decorated with many statues and sculptures.

This spot is one of the many viewpoints the Amer Fort Rajasthan offers; at the Amer Fort View Point, tourists can enjoy the fantastic views of the mountains and Lake Maota. This is the favourite spot for photographers since sometimes they can capture the sun rising above the horizon or disappearing below the horizon.

But most people do like the old way of reaching the fort by an elephant ride through the walls of the fort. The large interior spans out with gardens temples and large courtyards that define the Rajput dynasty.

Films like Jodhaa Akbar, Bajirao Mastani, Mughal-e -Azam and many more pictorial scenes of epic movies are shot here to get a view of the beauty and great architecture of the fort.

No visit to Jaipur is ever complete if one does not visit Amer Fort, which really gives a spectacular overview of the vast history and grandeur of Rajasthan. Do not forget to include in your Jaipur Tour Packages the visit to Amer Fort and Sheesh Mahal, the stunningly beautiful palace.
