Hawa Mahal is the icon of Jaipur, nick-named the "Palace of Winds." The building is designed strangely with a set of intricately carved windows or "jharokhas" through which the cool breeze enters the palace, relieving the scorching heat of Rajasthan.

It is famous for the fact that it is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is also said to resemble the crown of Krishna by the shape of the building. The Hawa Mahal is more than a palace because it is a cultural masterpiece and an architectural reflection of the harmonious marriage between the Hindu Rajput and the Islamic Mughal style.

This palace is built entirely using the red-pink sandstone of the region. It blends beautifully with the buildings surrounding it in Jaipur. There are no less than 953 small windows on the front side of the structure with decorated arches. These permitted airflow and also allowed the princesses to catch glimpses of processions and street festivals without being noticed that the purdah system was alive and kicking. Hawa Mahal Jaipur is a wonder, five-storey building emerging from the midst of a busy Jaipur city. The Inside of Hawa Mahal can be explored which comprises several courtyards and rooms displaying marvellous Rajput architecture. Above the arched wall, there is a fine view of the city and landscape below thus making it one of the popular destinations for photography. Anyone looking to visit Hawa Mahal would prove to be a crème de la crème on any Jaipur Tour Package.

The science behind Hawa Mahal is that those windows or Jharokhas work on the Venturi effect occurrence that happens when a fluid or gas travelling through a pipe is forced through a small portion, resulting in a fall in pressure and an increase in velocity. Okay, that's all the physics we are going to mention here.

It is called the Sharad Mandir on the first floor of the palace which hosts the autumn festival of the palace. The second floor happens to be that of Ratan mandir where we get a chance of seeing flamboyant glass works. The top three floors are called the Vichitra Mandir, Hawa Mandir, and Prakash Mandir.

Hawa Mahal Rajasthan is famous not only for its historic significance but also for its design. It remains one of the must-visit places in the region for those who are keen on history and architecture as well as inspiring people who just need some breathtaking beauty to explore. Hawa Mahal is an unusual view of Jaipur's heritage.
