Sissu Lake The lake in Sissu, Himachal Pradesh is a hidden gem in Lahaul Valley. It is a man-made lake and a popular tourist attraction. The lake is located near the helipad overlooking Sissu Falls on the Chandrabhag River it is famous for its spectacular waterfall that adds to this beautiful place. There are several eateries including HP Tourism Canteen where you can get momos, Tibetan food and sandwiches. Ample parking facilities and restrooms are available nearby. Camping options are available from April - October, and you can also rent tents here.
This area is another popular birding activity when migratory birds such as Siberian wild geese and ducks arrive in spring and fall The lake remains frozen during the winter months. Places to Visit in Sissu include the nearby Shashur Monastery and Gondhala Fort, which boasts rich local cultural heritage.

How to Reach
By road, take the Leh-Manali Highway (NH3) from Manali, which is around 40 km distant, to Sissu Lake in Himachal Pradesh. The trip takes between one and two hours. The Atal Tunnel is part of the route, which cuts travel time considerably. There are toll plazas with tolls of between Rs.50 and Rs.100 for cars at the Manali end and the South Portal of the Atal Tunnel. The drive to Sissu is a picturesque experience because of the well-maintained road that provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
