According to climatology the climate of a place depends upon its altitude, the higher the altitude is, the more cooler and soothing is the climate. Maybe this is a reason that the Shillong (Khasi and Jaintia hills) have cold weather conditions. The monsoons season begins in June and it rains almost till the end of the month of August. Shillong has a cool climate throughout the year. During the summer the maximum temperature of 24°C and a minimum temperature of 15°C have been observed.
