This is the small island that is named after Lord Shiva where Umanada translates to “Bliss of Uma ”(Uma the another name for Devi Parvatiji. Umananda Island is home to the Umananda Temple which is an important religious site which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was built in 1694 by the Ahom King Gadahar Singha, the temple is an architectural wonder which shows beautiful rock-cut sculptures and engravings. How to Reach

To reach Umananda Island from Guwahati, take a ferry from the Uzan Bazaar ghat. Ferries operate from 7 AM to 5 PM, with a journey time of about 10-15 minutes. You can also hire a private boat for more flexibility in timing.
