By Taxi or Bus via Shillong: Youcan enjoy a picturesque drive that lasts approximately 4-5 hours when heading to Cherrapunji through Shillong, passing through rolling hills and valleys.
By Private Car: To feel more comfortable and travel alone, rent a private vehicle directly until you reach Cherrapunji.
By Air: Shillong Airport (SHL): It is located about 90 kilometres away, the nearest airport to Cherrapunji, but it has limited connectivity, mostly domestic flights.

Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU): Situated approximately 150 kilometres away from Cherrapunji. It serves major airline companies in this region. You may hire a taxi or take a bus for four hours road trip to reach Cherrapunji.
By Road: When travelling by road towards Cherripungi offers some of those most marvellous sceneries either coming from Guwahati or Shillong;
From Guwahati: Buses and taxis are readily available here. The journey takes about 3 to 4 hours from Guwahati to Shillong, with another 2-3 hour drive to Cherrapunji.
From Shillong: It is about 60 kilometers away taking approximately 2-3 hours before reaching Cherrapunji. Buses and shared taxis are usually available at the Police Bazaar.

By Train: Although there is no direct rail route to Cherrapunji, however, the nearest biggest railway station is in Guwahati. From thereon, one can proceed by road as mentioned above.
By Bus:
From Guwahati: To get a bus for Shillong, go to Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) or Paltan Bazaar. From Shillong, buses and shared taxis can take you to Cherrapunji.
From Shillong: Shared taxis leave regularly from the Police Bazaar, taking around 2-3 hours for them to be able to reach Cherrapunji.
