Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal is one of the most famous places to visit in Jaipur. It was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in the year 1799. This palace was named Hawa Mahal which translates into ‘The Palace of Wind’ because of the small windows that were arranged in a manner that let the wind pass through the palace hence reducing the heat during the hot summer months. Hawa Mahal Jaipur has five stories of which every story has a differently designed room. The main reason the palace was built is that women of the royal house should be able to watch the celebrations in the streets at the same time they don’t have to be seen by outsiders. There are 953 perforated windows called ‘Jharokhas’ that have been decorated with excellent latticework. You can check the hotels near Hawa Mahal if you want to combine your visit with n
